Zero Carbon Australia 2020 is a project launched to develop a blueprint for transitioning the Australian economy to zero carbon by 2020, in line with what the latest and most credible science is telling us is required to maintain a safe climate future. It is also in line with Al Gore's Clean Energy Challenge of 100% clean electricity for the United States within ten years and the Repowering America plan developed to achieve this goal.

The project aims to draw on the enormous wealth of knowledge and experience in the community to develop an appropriate blueprint for action, in the absence of proper leadership by our elected representatives. It is an investment in a safe climate for this and future generations. Beyond Zero Emissions is carrying out this project in partnership with the University of Melbourne's Energy Research Institute.

If you are interested in volunteering to assist with the project, please complete and return the information form below:

Sector Groups

ZCA 2020 consists of separate working groups examining different sectors of the Australian economy; stationary energy, transport, land use, buildings, industrial processes and export.

Please note: sector plans currently underway are buildings, transport and land use.

Those wishing to contribute to the project can become a part of one of these working groups, or be part of the support team in different capacities working towards development and promotion of the final report.

Each ZCA 2020 working group will have two meetings each month on a weeknight evening from 6.30pm to 8.00 pm (some variation occurs). Working group contributors will work independently between meetings or in collaboration with other working group members.

If you are interested in being part of a sector working group, please indicate:
