Ecogeneration: Celebrating clean energy

AGL’s Bogong Hydro Power Project was named Most Outstanding Clean Energy Project at the EcoGen 2010 Clean Energy Awards, announced in Sydney at the EcoGen 2010 Conference and Exhibition.

The awards were presented on Tuesday 7 September at the EcoGen 2010 Gala Dinner held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, recognising excellence, innovation and outstanding achievement in Australia’s clean energy industry. The awards were judged by an independent panel of clean energy industry experts.

The Oceanlinx Mk3PC Oscillating Water Column received the Award for Most Outstanding Clean Energy Technology Innovation. Upon accepting the award, Oceanlinx Chief Technology Officer Dr Tom Denniss said that this was the first time the technology had been recognised in Australia with such an award, despite winning a number of awards internationally for the company’s innovative technology.

The Award for Young Industry Leader went to Matthew Wright, Executive Director, Beyond Zero Emissions.

The late Peter Szental, Founder of Szencorp, was acknowledged for his pioneering work over three decades to improve Australia’s sustainability, winning the award for Most Outstanding Contribution to the Industry.
