We talk to Peter Godfrey about why replacing fossil fuel based electricity generation with green power and saving 90% of the water in the process (equivalent to 30% of Melbourne's water supply) is the best way to solve the water crisis. Coal-fired power in fact caused the water crisis: climate change from burning fossil fuel has caused a 50 mm reduction in precipitation (rain) across the eastern seaboard and a 0.83 degrees C temperature increase.
