Flood Mitigation conference: How to minimise destruction incurred during Australian floods - Brisbane, QLD

Flood mitigation for the 21st Century should be viewed as part of the great transition towards a more sustainable Australia. Requiring a ‘big shift’ in infrastructure, town planning, policy, economics, logistics and emergency management, flood mitigation is no longer merely a dam building exercise.

The Flood Mitigation Conference will, for the first time in Australia, assemble all of the different elements necessary for a comprehensive flood strategy that is able to withstand our changing climate.

Our event will feature case studies from several flood prone local councils, as well as a number of leading climate scientists and sustainable infrastructure advocates. Financial, agricultural, logistical and insurance industry issues will also be addressed on the conference agenda

Contributions from keynote presenters including:
* Yasser Al El-Ansary, Tax Counsel, Institute of Chartered Accountants
* Trent Hawkins, Residential Planning Expert, Beyond Zero Emissions
* Karyn Brinkly, CEO, The Brisbane Institute
* Camile Rose, Water Engineer, North Central Catchment Management Authority

And more...

All town planners, economists, underwriters, engineers and private developers with vested interests in flood prone areas should strongly consider attending this crucial event.

Location: Hilton Hotel,190 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane, Australia, 4000
When: 27-28 June, 9am-5pm

For more information about the developing agenda, contact the conference producer, Adam.Jones@informa.com.au

or visit
http://www.informa.com.au/conferences/government/flood-mitigation

There is nothing that can be done to mitigate flooding events, but destruction can be a thing of the past.

Book your spot today and get flood ready!

Early booking discounts now apply; reserve your conference registration before 31st March 2011 and save $200 off the registration fee
